 Tabin Wildlife Reserve Facilities

Accommodation

The Tabin Wildlife Resort offers uniquely-designed accommodation and visitor facilities aiming at providing a comfortable and memorable stay to visitors while they experience the spectacular Borneo flora & fauna.

Careful thought has been given in developing Tabin as an eco-tourism destination. One of the main focuses was to balance harmoniously co-existence of humans and nature. The development is particularly mindful of the protection and conservation of nature. All programmes and activities are designed to have minimal impact on natural resources, and the facilities are sustainable.

Tabin offers three unique classes of accommodation. The Tabin Chalets (located on thick forested hills), and the Tabin Lodges (built along the flowing Lipad river) feature authentic Borneo timber bungalows with private balcony, air-conditioning and attached bathrooms with hot shower. The Eco-Tented-Platforms (ETP in short) are built on raised wooden platforms with common shower and toilet facilities.

Tabin has been receiving nature-loving groups even prior to its opening. They included Malaysian families, corporations having meetings and seminars, UK student groups undertaking rainforest expeditions and educational activities, bird-watching groups and honeymoon couples seeking an "away from it all" environment.

Explore some Livingstone type adventure and pass your nights in simple, but comfortable tented accommodation, or relax like Maugham in the lodges. Feel the might of the rainforest. At Tabin, your holiday will combine an exciting blend of Borneo mystic, traditional ambience and personalised service. The essence of Tabin’s exotic charm will be felt here.

Designed for adventurers and nature lovers, hobby-naturalists and photographers, the jungle accommodation takes into full consideration the needs of those who enjoy the feeling of being part of the rainforest that they have come to see, but who also want to enjoy the comfort of modern facilities. This is a place that you will look forward to come back to after an exciting day with nature.

Restaurant

The Tabin restaurant is purposely built to serve as a gathering place for those who wish to socialise and enjoy a drink after a day of jungle adventures. The restaurant serves simple but wholesome cuisine, blended with samples of Borneo’s unique dishes.

Tours and activities

A range of carefully-designed activities are available on a daily basis, including day trips to the mud volcano, jungle walks, day or overnight trips to the core area of Tabin, fishing, safaris and more.

The 3D2N Tabin package "Tabin Wildlife Observation 'n' Nature" highlights the mud volcano, where one can observe the footprints of animals visiting the place for their regular salt-intake; nocturnal wildlife-spotting; and jungle-trekking and bird-watching. An "Edu-Nature" series programme targeting youth and student groups wanting to learn more about the biodiversity of the rainforest is currently being test-marketed. Tailor-made itineraries can be made for special-interest groups based on their requests.

Slides and audio visual shows are made available nightly.
