Day 1

  • 0800: Pickup from hotel within West Coast area. There is a short stopover at Nabalu Market should time permits.
  • 0900: Arrive at Mount Kinabalu Headquaters for registration, climbing permit, packed lunch, insurance and assigned mountain guide. Transfer to Timphon Gate (1800 meters above sea level) and begin 6.5km trek to Laban Rata area. Pack lunch.
  • 1500: Estimated normal arrival at Laban Rata Resthouse. Dinner and check in.
  • 1800: Check in at your rest house.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 2

  • 0200: Early morning wake up for light breakfast before begining the 2.5km climb to Mt. Kinabalu summit.
  • 0550: Estimate arrival at the summit point, Low's Peak.
  • 0600: Start decending towards Laban Rata for breakfast and checkout.
  • 0900: Start last decent down to Timpohon Gate.
  • 1200: Lunch at Kinabalu National Park Headquaters. Return transfer to your hotel within Kota Kinabalu area.

The tour starts with a pickup at downtown capital and if time permits, you may stop over at Nabalu Market enroute. To reach the start of the Summit Trail at the Timpohon Gate, climbers must drive or walk the 4kms (2 1/2 miles) of the Kamborongoh Road that leads from the Kinabalu Park Headquarters to the Public Works Department's Power Station at 1,829m (6,000ft) and later towards Laban Rata for rest before continuing to the summit the next morning as early as 1 a.m.

Accommodation at Laban Rata resthouse consists of Laban Rata, Waras Hut, Panar Laban Hut, Gunting Lagadan & Pendant Hut. Laban Rata Resthouse is the only one with heated acoommodation. During booking, the choices will depend on availability. Booking are open as early as 6 months ahead. Reaching the summit will depend on your status as well as the weather's condition. If bad weather is eminent, the parks rangers will not allowed your ascend to the summit, please note that whatever fee you had paid will be forfeited. All climbers must be accompanied by respective mountain guide, and must obey them at all times or cost. Climber's and visitor's safety are at utmost importance.
